A proposal for residential units or "Sky Studios" on the roofs of two existing buildings on the downtown pedestrian mall: Central Place and The Terraces. This aim of this proposal is maximize the value of each property by capitalizing on the underutilized spaces; an opportunity to literally create value out of thin air. The Central Place design consists of four sky studios, a communal sky deck and a large commercial space with roof terrace. The Terraces proposal is for four Sky Studios and a communal sky deck. The units and commercial space have been designed to rest lightly on the existing structures while maximizing market value, views, outdoor enjoyment and aesthetic intrigue.
