I'm a registered architect in Virginia offering full architectural services for residential, commercial and institutional building projects. I have a diverse background and have been working in the field of architecture and construction for over 20 years. Beyond the highly technical experiences of working at architectural firms such as Gensler, Bushman Dreyfus & Morgan Gick McBeath a few highlights have been volunteering with the U.S. Peace Corps on four occasions: Mali, Antigua, Sri Lanka & Philippines, an internship in Tokyo with renowned architect Shigeru Ban, a fellowship at the San Francisco office of Hart Howerton which included work in Tanzania, and an internship in Urubamba, Peru with an architect who specializes in earth architecture. As it is imperative for an architect to know how to build I temporarily left the field of architecture in 2001 to work as a Field Engineer assembling steel structures in Colorado for a year and subsequently as a general contractor constructing residential buildings and condominiums in New York City for two years. I have a Master's Degree of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. I obtained Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) status in 2010. I’m originally from Reston, Virginia, moved to Charlottesville in 2011 and became a sole practitioner (fulfilling a lifelong dream) in 2015. I’ve been a board member of Preservation Piedmont and currently sit on the Charlottesville Board of Architectural Review. If you’re considering any type of building project please drop me a line; I’d love to hear from you.
